Baby boy is fine!

Well, I finally got the call from the hospital with the results of the amniocentesis. They told me that the results were all normal, and they also confirmed that the baby is a boy. They also told me that they will have a copy of the results ready for me when I go to the hospital for my next ultrasound next Wednesday. The results came as quite a relief because they had originally placed me at high risk for birth defects, with an especially high risk for trisomy 21 based on my blood analysis.
Luckily, though, I don't have to worry about that anymore.
I've also been starting to feel what I think is the movement of the baby. I don't feel it very often, and it is very subtle, but I'm pretty sure it is the baby.
I don't have much more new news to share for now, but I will share the email I received on Tuesday about the 19th week of pregnancy.

How your baby's growing:

Your baby's sensory development is exploding! Her brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. Some research suggests that she may be able to hear your voice now, so don't be shy about reading aloud, talking to her, or singing a happy tune if the mood strikes you.

Your baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the size of a large heirloom tomato. Her arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of her body now. Her kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on her scalp is sprouting. A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on her skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid.
